Beauty is Skin Deep

There are million ways to describe beauty, different people have different opinions of beauty. Beauty is only skin deep but we take everyone at face value, and judge them from their flawless skin, dressing style and bright looks. Landscapes, music, people, art, poetry, nature all are beautiful and they all hold a deeper meaning.

A person with good physical appearance would be appealing to a majority of people. They do not pay attention to the important characteristics that makes and moulds a person. They feel that beauty is based on outer appearance alone.

But let’s think differently, people can be beautiful not from outside but also from inside.  “A beauty is more than skin deep when one acquires the beauty of the inner self, they are intelligent, caring, compassionate, helpful, generous; they go out of their way to help others, they give 100% in everything they do, speak kindly to others. All these things create a beautiful person.

Mother Theresa, Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mendela were all beautiful people at heart, they had a kind soul and were determined to have a peaceful resolution in times of conflict. Mother Teresa helped the frail and poor, Mahatma Gandhi gained independence for India without violence, Nelson Mandela fought against racism in South Africa.

So Friends, outer beauty is only skin deep, let us all have an open mind and learn to recognize the real beauty that lies within one’s heart.
